Corrado vr6 head gasket? Oil in water tank

Recommended Posts

Hi there people I have recently bought a corrado vr6 storm but have a problem, in the water tank there is a mixture of oil and water my first thought was it was the head gasket but the car drives fine pulls fine doesn't overheat or lose water very confusion so I looked at some forum where they said it could be the oil cooler I just wondered if anybody could give me idea of what this could be please

Thanks

Oil is at a higher pressure than the coolant so it will migrate to the coolant side when the engines running, when the engine is stopped the coolant remains pressurised and seeps back the opposite way.

To test a heat exchanger

Plug one side of the coolant outlets and put a tyre valve in the other, pressurise with a foot pump with the exchanger in a bucket of water and watch for bubbles
