G60Dan 0 Posted May 21, 2004 On the front of the head there is a black plastic flange with 2 water sensors & pipes attached. I see mine was leaking a bit last night so tried to tighten it up, just for the crack to get worse. my question is, I've ben looking on the G&S site to get a replacement part. Is this the right one?? julesz 0 Posted May 21, 2004 I dont think it is. There are 2 of these flanges, one on the front and one on the side. I think the one on the front is a little more expensive and requires another part with it, so kind of rubber or something. I got mine from VW as it was only about £10 with all the bits. Youll probably have to do the one on the side as well soon. As soon as one is fixed, the other will go....
GazzaG60 0 Posted May 21, 2004 the front part has changed. it now has 3 switch holes of which one is blocked by a plug that vw sell thats the same shape as the switch. it too uses a o-ring and clip to hold it in place. you need. flange. 3x o-ring new blue switch new black switch plug for 3rd hole. 3 new retaining clips. that does it proper and will prevent leaks around that area. remember to clean the block up first so the sealing face is a good fit. Jim 2 Posted May 21, 2004 I got all the part numbers if you need em mate :) You can get all the parts from VW, but you should pick up the actual senders (if you are going to replace those too) from ECP as they are half the price. And yeah, should do the side one as well as that suffers from the same problem eventually.
Jim 2 Posted May 21, 2004 Here they are, thanks to Henny who sorted me out with these just the other week :) 026 121 144 E (Flange for side of the head) 037 121 687 (Rubber seal for each flange.. if you do both you'll need two of these) 037 121 132B (Flange on the front of the block - the 'three holed' one) 357 121 140 (Blanking plug for the third, spare hole on the flange) 032 121 142 (Clip to hold in the blanking plug) N 903 168 02 (Seals for the blanking plug & senders - so you'll need 3 of these) 025 906 041A (Blue Sender) } Get these from ECP - VW want £30 for the pair, ECP want £15! 251 919 501D (Black Sender)
G60Dan 0 Posted May 21, 2004 thanks jim, already replaced the sensors how much roughly is the flange mate?
julesz 0 Posted May 21, 2004 Im pretty sure it was less than £15 for the flange and all the washers
andycowuk 0 Posted May 21, 2004 flange for side - £4.52 flange for front - £8.25 O - Rings for round the senders - £0.82 Blue Temp sneder - £8.63 new spring clip for blanker - £0.36 Blank plug - £.177 Get these from ECP - VW want £30 for the pair, ECP want £15! I like to buy genuine parts, even though I know that alot of these things from EPC/gsf are OEM, just not VAG branded, but not all of it. ..... I dont think that the two temp senders from VAG will cost £30, given the price of the blue one. EDIT - I should add.... these are VAG list prices so are subject to vat and any discount you may recieve. jimsG60, there is a thread that stevemac wrote about g60 water leaks....your part nos and my prices would look good there...but i didnt want to copy your post without mensioning..... feel free to take the prices from mine.
Jim 2 Posted May 21, 2004 Trust me.. the combined price of the two is definately £30 - I needed them when I just had all my flanges / senders replaced about two weeks ago! The blue sender is cheaper, the black sender is about £17... I kid ye not. Thats why I got in touch with Henny and got him to pick me some up from ECP :) And yeah.. good idea about that thread. I'll sort that out when I get home later, if i'm able to use the computer. Last day in my current job, and off to the pub in 20 mins ;)
