Drucey 10 Posted March 11, 2014 Hi corrado fans :-) hope your all well? Could anybody help me? I have just bought a brand new interior light for my 1.8 16v (g reg) but the connection on the back of the new light is for 4 pins, my car light has only 3. The light looks the same (old style version) if I got the connector (4 pin) off another car and wire it to my loom will it work ok? Does anybody know what the difference is? Thank you :)
Wompa 0 Posted March 11, 2014 One is for a interior light with map light for the passenger and one is just one bulb.
Drucey 10 Posted March 11, 2014 I have a one with a small buld in the passenger side (same a number plate bulb) style in it. Just has the on off function. The driver side has a bigger bulb which comes on when you open the door. :)
jamesoff 10 Posted March 12, 2014 I had this problem - I did some testing and I think the extra pin is for telling the light to go off when you turn the ignition on and to tell it to come on when you turn the ignition off (can someone with a newer Corrado confirm that's what happens?) I cut the connector off my loom and wired it up directly (with a connector block so I can take it out again if needed) - I can have a look and tell you which pin does what as I wrote that on the hardware, but I couldn't tell you necessarily which cable on the car should go to which pin - if memory serves there's at least two cables of the same colour...
