Ruggy 10 Posted March 28, 2014 Hoping somebody could shed done light on a problem I have. My passenger sidelight is coming in when I press the brake pedal. Anybody got an idea what could be causing it? Cheers
Roger Chatfield 0 Posted March 28, 2014 Probably got some water in one of the rear lights. It's shorting out the brake circuit to the side light circuit. Rog.
Ruggy 10 Posted March 28, 2014 That was my first though too, but the bulb holders are dry as a bone
Roger Chatfield 0 Posted March 28, 2014 Unplug the rear lights (each one in turn) and see if your fault goes, that way you can find out if it's an earth in one of your clusters. Another thought, have you recently replaced any of the bulbs, the brakes use a dual filament lamp and if it's replaced with a normal single filament lamp it can cause problems. Rog. Ruggy 10 Posted March 28, 2014 Just checked and the brake light bulb is a single filament bulb. I've changed it for a dual filament, just need to wait for the wife to get home so I can get her to check if the side light still comes on when I press the brake. Cheers Roger! Ruggy 10 Posted March 28, 2014 All sorted, it was the single filament bulb in the brake light. Thanks again Roger, much appreciated.
