Tensioner Bushes

Recommended Posts

I would have thought pretty important, also seat the bolt through it properly. Jabbasport do them or you can also get CNC aluminium ones. http://www.jabbasport.com/store/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=prodshow&ref=JSTENBUSH

What do you mean by 'also seat the bolt through it properly'?

Also If I was to machine them out of aluminium, would this make for noise and vibration from the engine. As the original ones look like some sort of plastic. So I would have thought they would absorb some noise, or is this negligible.

Sorry just meant that the bushes bring the size of the hole down to the correct size for the bolt. - If they are worn then it allows it to move up and down.

Aluminium shouldn't noticeably cause any more noise or vibration from the engine, its the engine mounts that control the transfer to the engine cabin.

There may be case for arguing that aluminium may increase wear on the pulley roller however.

I'm sure the original ones are more rubber, they were in mine anyway and were really worn so I replaced them with ones from Jabbasport which are hard plastic.
