Grum21 10 Posted April 11, 2014 Hi I've brought some borbet a's for my g60 7.5 on front and 9 on rear with flat center caps, But fitted rears today and found the stub axels sit to far into alloys for center cap to fit!! The wheels are on edge of arch so if get spacers then will be outside arch and as I understand illegal, The question is can I cut the stub axels down? I need to take bout 8mm off them so would had do away with the cap and re drill split pin hole. Is this ok? Or is there another way round it?? Thanks

Stonejag 10 Posted April 15, 2014 Take the cap off the hub? It's just a dust cover...or squash it a bit flatter. Wheels can protrude from arches up to 30mm provided no tread sticks out past the arch - but traffic police don't often know this so the further you go the more likely you ate to get pulled. Make sure your suspension has enough travel that the sidewalls won't hit the bodywork, or all bets are off... Stone
