VR6 Lee 0 Posted April 29, 2014 Right Corrado is now insured so need to get it m.o.t'd and taxed. Question is if I take it for its M.O.T ands it fails can I take it away from the M.O.T centre back home? Also do I need to get tax before putting on road or can I do that if the car passes m.o.t? Jon_vr6 1 Posted April 29, 2014 You need MOT to tax a car. You are insured to take the car to an MOT and away for repairs if it fails

Portent 0 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) You can drive to a pre booked MOT station and back again with no tax. You must have insurance and you must tell the garage to record your number plate in case you get stopped by the police on the way so that you can prove its that car that is booked for the MOT. Yes you can drive it home again if it fails unless the garage tells you it's actually unsafe. Edited April 29, 2014 by Portent
