unomatt 10 Posted May 26, 2014 I have a problem! Passenger side electric window is stuck halfway down. Was working fine earlier, then tried to raise it-no joy. It clicks when you press either switch but no action. I'm guessing its the motor?
unomatt 10 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) Just found this in the bottom of the door, could this be the problem? Edited May 26, 2014 by unomatt

unomatt 10 Posted May 26, 2014 Have reloaded them, hopefully they should be working now.
dragon green 5 Posted May 26, 2014 They are old door "strikers" Dave16v's kit replaces them ! It's most likely one of the cables have broke, you really should investigate a little further, motor and cables come as one unit !
unomatt 10 Posted May 26, 2014 Crud, does that mean drilling out the rivets etc? Not sure I can get to all the attachments as it's halfway down :(
davidwort 0 Posted May 27, 2014 open the door (I mean remove card/film etc) and whack the motor while trying to operate, it might just be tired and stalled
unomatt 10 Posted June 1, 2014 Gave it a dam good thwacking but no joy I'm afraid, dam dam dam!
unomatt 10 Posted June 1, 2014 Random thought, could there be a fuse issue? Is there a seperate one for each window or one that controls both?
dragon green 5 Posted June 1, 2014 Not if the motor is clicking !
unomatt 10 Posted June 1, 2014 ...Fair point! Feel a bit stupid now!
davidwort 0 Posted June 1, 2014 If you can get an Allen key onto the motor casing bolts holding it to the regulator try loosening them and re-tightening, that freed one of mine off, it's a sign of a tired motor and worn regulator though.
unomatt 10 Posted June 7, 2014 Right, got the angle grinder on the rivets and got all 7 out, took off the 2 bolts holding the glass to the mechanism but now I can't remove the mechanism! I can move the glass but the mechanism is being a stubborn piece of arse! Am I missing a really obvious attachment somewhere?
davidwort 0 Posted June 7, 2014 You've popped the rollers off the end of the arms have you
unomatt 10 Posted June 8, 2014 Yeah, rollers popped off
unomatt 10 Posted June 8, 2014 Finally got it out, yay! Motor seems to be working ok but the rest of it is kaput-the wires have had it and the little green clip has had it. Im guessing the rest is the regulator? Was this a Corrado only part or shared with mk2 golf/passat?
davidwort 0 Posted June 8, 2014 Corrado only I'm afraid
