cleaning bmc filter?

Ive got a k&n filter cleaning kit and used it according to the instructions. The filter still appears greyish on the inside so I assume its not properly cleaned. Any advice or tips? Thanks

If you have a long tap you can slide the filter over it and wash from the inside out. I use my bath tap and give it a good blast.

 

Could soak it overnight.
