Strange VR6 ABS problem

Recommended Posts

I'll aim to have a proper look at this issue when I get chance, but thought I'd ask here in case anyone has heard of similar.

Firstly, a previous owner has bodged the ABS light so that it appears to work (fitted a timer, so the light comes on and then goes off again).

My scanner informs me of fault codes for;

rear n/s sensor

ABS inlet valve front left -N101

Valve 2 for differential lock

Supply voltage

Now these faults on their own were leading me towards fitting a new ABS pump assy (apart from supply voltage). But last week as I was crawling down a gravelled driveway the ABS sparked up. Thing is, I wasn't pressing the brake pedal - my foot was covering the throttle. A trial press of the brake pedal confirmed that it was working well...

So, wiring fault somewhere I presume? Is this a new type of fault?!

Well, I managed to get a 2nd hand ABS ecu module. It has cleared a load of faults, so now I'm just left with the N101, ABS inlet valve front left.
