Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 29, 2014 Got a new oil pump and some diagrams show a gasket between the pickup pipe and the pump. Been to VW and it says no longer availiable. Am sure i've read somewhere that some people don't fit a gasket at all. Do i make myself one from some sort of gasket sheet of stuff you buy? Can't remember seeing one when i took old engine apart. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted September 29, 2014 Do you mean the transfer pipe? The S shaped pipe that bolts to the block and the output of the pump. There is no gasket at the pump end but the pipe has a built-in O ring on the block end. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
