Charger problems

Hi all, this isn't how I wanted to introduce myself but I've run into a few problems taking my charger out today.

 

A week a go I bought my first g60 after wanting one for years but I've always had mk2 golfs and a couple of valver rados and currently a b3 passat with a 1.8t. This one ticked all the boxes and had a stage 5 charger. It was done by g weeks in 2009 and has done 20k miles since then. I decided to take it out and check it over but turns out the bottom left bolt between the two pulleys that hold the charger to the bracket has been loving rounded off by who ever put it back in last. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get to this and how to get it out??

 

Also is it worth me taking it out at all?

I don't know where the bolt is and how hard access is etc, but get yourself a set of Irwin bolt grips.

They have got me out of trouble a few times.

I'll grab a set of those tomorrow to try but if not I may have to bond the driver into it and try that. Here is a pic I've taken from the how to guide on there which was a great help today just to show which bolt it was (bottom left)

Ah it's Allen keys. Try hammering a torx into it? I had an absolute nightmare of a rounded Allen key to get out before, tried bonding a torx in with chemical metal and it never worked so I had to weld one in.

The bolt grips should still work on them as long as the socket fits.

You could probably smack a socket over it that will just bite enough to loosen it

Thanks guys I will try it and see what happens. At this rate I'll be taking the passat to ultimate dubs and not the rado :-(

i had same problem recently i whacked a multi spline socket over it with a hammer then just undone it
