rmn 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Hi guys, i have had a strange one at the weekend i knnow its not a corrado, but its a golf vr6 I use it as my everyday car and was driving in traffic on saturday, got a terrible smell of petrol and quickly got out to inspect The feed line to the fuel rail has worn through! It was rubbing off a line back to the back of the airbox but the flow ancd return rubber hoses are both worn through Has anyone ever seen this before? It is quite scary, and to add insult to injury i was into VAG today and they said that has to come from Germany and could be 2 weeks!! I am in Ireland and we have really really crap main dealers here anyone had this prob, its a bit isturbing
Henny 0 Posted June 14, 2004 yeah, had the same on my MKII GTI 8V and on my current Corrado G60... The ends of the pipes split quite often and then gradually tear underneith the hose clamp which allows some fuel to leak until it gets to a point where it springs a proper leak and throws quite a lot of petrol out... :? Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do, you just need to keep an eye out and if you can smell petrol, you need to investigate it ASAP! ;) :| Hope you get yours fixed soon... 8)
craigowl 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Yes, my son's 1994 VR6 developed fuel line leaks and had to have them replaced.
