Wayne2015 10 Posted April 8, 2015 no wayne not really think he means if lots of oil in throttle body then it could be that which is at fault, or something in that area, whereas is not much in the TB then it could be pointing to your valve stem seals leaking personally i would check the TB as sean says but also top up your oil & then monitor the usage daily & record how many miles its done in the testing period. also, are you sure it is blue tint smoke? is there any feel of oil in the smoke or residue on the exhaust exit? i found that my old CAT used to billow white smoke until it got rid of the excess moisture it was holding due to age. so much so stealth said it looked like a turbo'd car where the turbo had failed lol having had the longlife exhaust system with sport CAT installed i barely get any smoke at all now Cheers Not sure - but I would call it blue smoke ... It did it before we clean the throttle body - back then we didn't notice any oil in the body I will check oil level then...
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 8, 2015 i thought if a lot of oil was coming through the pcv then it means the valve seals are worn, hence more oil blowing back into the cam area. pvc?
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 8, 2015 Sorry I should have explained it a bit better. If there is excess oil in the intake and throttle body, then you are getting a large amount of excess oil coming from the crank case ventilation system. Normally caused by having too much oil in the engine or combustion gases blowing past the piston rings causing the crank case to over pressurise, If the intake and throttle body are clean apart from a little bit of residue, then you are more than likely getting oil drawn into the combustion chamber via the valve guides or possibly the piston rings. Either way, look at the intake as a starting point, then as said above, fill and monitor. You shouldn't go through more than half a litre per 1000 miles if memory serves. It's true about the cat giving out excess moisture but if it is still doing it 20 odd miles into a journey, then I'd suggest that it's not the cat. Cheers Sean Will monitor oil level It doesn't do it every time.. But then I don't look behind me every time This morning several times in traffic stop/go... But if set off gently I think its fine...a little gas and blue smoke everywhere....
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 8, 2015 Ok Just driven C From cold to 90 oil - no blue smoke Oil level since oil change couple of 100miles back ... Though got stuck putting gear one in - hazard s on! Wayne2015 10 Posted April 8, 2015 Well Another trip and still no blue smoke. I know its only happened a couple of times ... 1. When it used to stall, and if i start the car BEFORE the car comes to a full stop - - the ABS lights stays on and blue smoke whenever i drive off 2. Ocassional the whole trip would have blue smoke whenever drive off (like this morning and engine was fully hot and traffic was light) So maybe temperamental ...will monitor ... Wayne2015 10 Posted April 9, 2015 Ok Temp fix worked :thumb right: As u close sunroof tilt, U push HARD this back (same direction as the other side of sunroof is moving) Better if one person close sunroof, the other push that thing back! If u on your own like me then, Close a little - then push that thing back a little (or as much as u can) Close more - push more Until fully close - then stick long screwdriver thru sunroof headliner and push MORE Now - open/close sunroof a little to get right tight closing

g0ldf1ng3r 15 Posted April 10, 2015 Cheers Andy? Are Xenon's = HIDS? If so are they legal on our cars? no m8 they are just normal H4 bulbs think they are filled with xenon gas i do know that since fitting them i often get flashed by others coming towards me at night as if i was on full beam. sometimes i give them a taste of what full beam is if they are overzealous lol for example http://www.mecatechnic.com/COR_UA17014_GB_2-ring-xenon-ultima-h4-bulbs-vw-corrado.htm
