Wayne2015 10 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Ok My C s got 6 speakers And this thread confirms there is no 7th speaker (dash centre speaker cover / grille) http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=1364&highlight=mystery+dashboard+grill But looking at the back of my after market stereo Ok ISO socket for speakers OR RCA sockets? From the back It looks like both ISO + RCA sockets are used??? And Since i have these as well... Then i have EIGHT speakers??? Wait... Rear speaker cables disconnected (RCA)? So I am back to SIX speakers? What...if i.. 1. Connect cables back to rear OEM speakers? 2. AND reconnect the RCA cables to the parcel shelf speakers? Then i have EIGHT speakers??? Ok What is this cut BLUE wire? And this component on the aerial cable? Is it my aerial booster / amplifier? (As I dont have a booster/amplifier in base of my roof aerial?) Edited April 20, 2015 by Wayne2015

MZpog 10 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Wayne, put the stereo back before your set fire to sommat, lol. ISO leads power speakers from the head unit's internal amp (fronts, rears, both or none at all if external amps used). RCA's go to amp(s) to power speakers (possibly fronts, rears, sub or all 3). I assume you must have/had one or more amps if RCA's fitted and must go somewhere. Both ISO and amps can be used at the same time but not to power the same speakers. Re 6 speakers - treat as 4 speakers - the dash tweeters/door woofer are one set (components) fed by amp or head unit. The rears are the other set (you do however have 2 sets of rears - standard location and parcel shelf) The Blue wire you found may be the amp switching lead but without looking I couldn't say. Yes you found an aerial signal booster. Edited April 21, 2015 by MZpog
Wayne2015 10 Posted April 21, 2015 Cheers Stuart! :thumbleft: That makes a lot of sense! Ok Thats an inline aerial booster. But when i plugged my new aerial directly into the stereo, the radio was still crystal clear! Shall i just bypass the booster? Or cut some wires to make new aerial plug into booster? Tigerfish 10 Posted April 21, 2015 As above, the other end of the rca leads are probably under or behind carpet/trim/seats in the back somewhere (where an amp used to be).

MZpog 10 Posted April 21, 2015 Just seen your picture of where the RCA's leads go to and saw that red wire coming from the centre consul and wondered if this was the live feed for an amp that someone left loose :suprised: It may be worth lifting your seats just to check where it goes and that it's not a live wire. MZpog 10 Posted April 21, 2015 So u weren't kidding about me setting my car on fire?!!! :shocked!: Will check! It doesn't look suitable for an amp, but worth checking out. I hate bodged wiring on cars which is why I've sorted any I found on mine.

Wayne2015 10 Posted April 21, 2015 And er Rear seats (either end of bottom cushion)... I have a BOLT on one side But There is NO bolt on the other (completely lose)! :shocked!: Fixable?
MZpog 10 Posted April 21, 2015 Now that red looks like an amp wire. Usually the wire would have an inline fuse just off of the battery.

MZpog 10 Posted April 21, 2015 (edited) Black doesn't need taping, red wants removing ideally (unless you want to fit an amp) but to do this you'll need to remove the fuse (if it has one and hasn't already been removed). Leave it all taped up and I'll sort it for you later. Edited April 21, 2015 by MZpog
