G60 alternator issues

Recommended Posts

I've recently had my alternator powder coated then rebuilt with new parts. But for some reason it's not charging the battery, I stuck a multimeter on it yesterday and it was reading 11.8v at the battery when running and 1.8v at the alternator terminals! Any body got any ideas what's going on????

Is it a fairly simple job to do, I'm not to keen on sending it away again as i really don't want to have to powder coat it again?

I've had file part of the powder coating down to get the alternator in so it should have good contact but I'm going to send it away to a specialist tomorrow to have a look. Il keep you updated, hopefully it's nothing major
