Recommended Posts

In all honesty it aint the best time for throwing in timing as its at peak temperature about now. wind it in in october and retard again for summer.

i ve 2 got a timing lights, one which you could type the disired angle in and one which just flashes (really old), the good one has stopped working yesterday when i was trying to set it up,

and i remember reading to advance the timing as much as possible before it pinks for maximum performance. i am using a differnt cam and had the head skimmed so i would have thought setting the dizzy the manufactures setting might not be at its best,

but having said that i am running the engine in at the moment so would nt really matter if it was at its maximum performance on the timing

thanks gazza for your help, its quite cool here today so might give it a go

i ve just been thinking about it and answered my own question, i know which way the engine turns so i can work out which way to turn the dizzy to advance the timing

Rotor rotates clockwise, so you need to turn the dissy anticlockwise to make it spark earlier.

Thought the Dizzy on Digifant engines was just the basic ref. setting, and that the knock sensor/ECU overrides theit anyway?

i.e if its within a few degrees of the base setting, theres no point in adjusting it :?:
