JoeNose 0 Posted June 18, 2004 I've had an intermittent issue with my rev counter bouncing around at high RPM. Vince mentioned it might be a bad earth, but reconnected all the wires yesterday whilst installing the Schrik. Didn't see any evidence of bad behavoiur at Stealth, but on the way home, typically, the problem returned. Above 4k revs the needle loses resolution and can really go a bit mental. The engine is running fine. Anything else I can try, or do I need to look for new instruments? :x
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 18, 2004 Try taking the instrument pod out and checking for anything dodgy. If you're brave, venture inside the pod itself and check for anything amiss there too. Assuming there are no obvious faults and that the speedo works OK, we can outrule the vehicle speed sensor and blame the rev counter driver itself. If it is dead, you need a new unit from VDO. Hopefully just an iffy connection at the back somewhere.
