Welsh g60 0 Posted June 19, 2004 My '91 G60 wont start due to a faulty ignition switch - no spark from coil. I cant get a new 1 untill monday but I need to move the car now. If I unplug the wires from the ignition barrel can someone please tell me how to hotwire it so I can get it home as I have no other option. Thanks Chris
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 19, 2004 Try a search as the details are on here somewhere as I've done it in the past, but can't remember the wiring particulars. I think you bridge the red wire to black wire and the pulse the red/black wire from the red wire to activate the starter, if that makes sense. You can work it out really easily with a voltmeter mate. Henny 0 Posted June 19, 2004 Don't forget that you still need your key in the steering lock else you won't be able to go around corners! :?
Welsh g60 0 Posted June 19, 2004 Thanks all, found the details and the car is now home. Terrifyingly easy to do isn't it, I think I'm going to go and invest in a good alarm.
