I can't find one anywhere! Cheers,
dazzyvr6 0 Posted June 24, 2004 its incorparated into the locking mech itself, thats probably why they took the bulb out as it would set the alarm off
Andy T 0 Posted June 25, 2004 Cheers, now I know! So does that mean you cant have a auto boot light with an aftermarket alarm?
dazzyvr6 0 Posted June 25, 2004 ive not had a boot light for about 2 years now,and ive got a standard fit alarm fitted, you could try putting some oil down the latch and open and close the boot a few times to see if it cures it
Henny 0 Posted June 25, 2004 I've got an aftermarket alarm AND my boot light works fine... 8) The problem is that the switch sometimes "leaks" slightly when it's aged a bit, and alarms don't like a current leak anywhere on the car as they see it as someone opening a door and so set the alarm off... When you take the bulb out you loose the way for the current to leak and sort the alarm problem... it's a bodge cure instead of replacing the switch which (I'd bet) is gonna be expensive knowing VW...
