window regulator, the yellow clip.

Recommended Posts

Hello!

As my window cable snapped i had to get a new regulator. It arrived today and it looks like the yellow clip is broken?

If you look at the picture the clips is still there, but a part of it is broken. Is this what people are having problems with? Or is the problem when the clip breaks and leaves the cable free?

yes thats the bit that snaps off. It should have the extended portion of the yellow clip which curves round so i'm afraid it wont work properly

Well sh*t.. I remember some guy welding a socket in place of the plastic tab, to hold the cable hosing firm where it should be, so i was hoping the extender portion really didnt matter.

yes that's a solution. You will need to cut a slot in the socket and weld it in place but you'll need to make sure the height it high enough to give you a curve but not too high that it fouls the door when refitting.

There are a couple of pics on the internet

Has anyone got a better solution for these broken yellow clips yet. Fed up with either pulling my window up by hand or dealing with a whistling window.....
