daves16v 1 Posted July 1, 2004 Woke this morning to a flat battery, no warning, just flat. Alternator is charging, possible battery drain somewhere but looking at the condition of the battery I went ahead and bought a new one. So for your information I bought a Bosch Silver 61Amp. This was confirmed by VW this morning as the correct one. Not at £61 + vat it's not :x Phoned round and was told the 61Amp is correct for the C by an independant supplier so I snapped their hand off at £45 + vat. Seems to be working fine now and the car drives slightly better :) Dave
Jim 2 Posted July 1, 2004 Bosch Silvers are a good choice... had some nasty old one on my Corrado 16v, but after a few spells of leaving the lights on and a really cold winter it just nailed it. Bought a new Silver 61AMP (same as you!) - no trouble after that :) Current Corrado is also equipped with a Silver :D
daves16v 1 Posted July 2, 2004 Checked my old battery this morning after charging it last night and leaving off charge overnight.......was down to about 10.8v Drives like a different car now, no jerkiness and sounds smoother.
