4 wheel drive corrado

Recommended Posts

err, you have to do a lot more than that

Not for the faint hearted.

The rear boot floor needs to be replaced for the syncro item

You will more than likely have to make an exhaust up from scratch

Syncro fuel tank needed

syncro back axle (obviously)

etc etc

A bit more than a weekends work

depends how mechanically adept you are, or how much money you have to through at the car.

but yes if you were thinking of doing it then that sounds about right.

Bare in mind the syncro rear viscous coupling is not as good as the rallye one.

Surely a Jetta's syncro system is only gonna be good up too so much power(not much), would it not be be better seekin a Rallyes system.

Richard Tweedle (all smiles) reckons the Corrado shares the rallye's floorpan (well, transmission tunnel) and a 4wd swap is fairly straight forward.

I have a jetta syncro floorpan in the shed if you need one. probably easier to buy a whole syncro though.,. even then, the gearbox and rear diff are pretty useless as they can't take big power. but the boot floor and tank and the axle itself might be useful, even though they have drum brakes..

You need to raise the boot for the fuel tank. The normal mk2 Golf Syncro has a weaker 4x4 system.... You can use it but it will break easy.
