Hand brake plastic fitting help .

Recommended Posts

A long with various interior bits , i bought the handbrake plastic . I have removed the handbrake grip , but how does the plastic part fit over the metal ?. My old one was split underneath , so it just sat on the top . The part no is 535711463. It came from Heritage , the other thing that bothers me is it seems to be a matt type very dark grey/black. It sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the black plastics inside the car .

Many thanks

Rob

It's weird how it works but essentially ensure the long flat part at the top is facing towards the rear, and then you just have to slide it over the handbrake lever. It looks like it won't go, but the plastic will stretch accordingly.

Ok , thanks Jim , I will give it another go . I'm not sure if they are a repro part ? I'm not keen on the colour .

As Jim said, it goes over it like a glove.

I bought one for my G60 years back and it looked all good to me. Post a picture of it if you can, just out of curiosity.
