Did you put the steel sleeves inside the bushes?

Without them you'll never get the bolts aligned and replacing the captive nuts in the floor is a right bar steward of a job if you cross-thread them.

I've never had any issues with powerflex bushes..... something isn't right and yeah, the two horse shoes in the subframe are for alignment purposes.

well, there's your problme, if you have the horseshoe in your subframe you need mk3 bushes, which don't come with the little steel sleeve. thoe split pin sleeves are for locating the bush in a mk2 subframe, which doesn't have the horseshoe.....

Yes Im a muppet and u can all have a little laugh at my expence as ive relised the problem i had with the bushes... ok what i did wrong was not remove the metal sleeve that goes round the original bush so with the powerflex bush in the wishbone and the sleeve the wishbone was tight to get in the subframe        .... its still strange that i have a MK3 subframe but ive got around that problem.

Anyway im my defence im a newbie to the VW scene so im learning from my mistakes

:iamwithstupid:

plz be gental with this muppet :brickwall:

Just 1 more thing...... i better ask this Q as i have a bad feeling  ..with the powerflex bushes installed,, does the large metal washer go ontop of the wishbone or at the bottom??
