Few small faults hopfuly 1.8 16v kr

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, just got my self another corrado :D

It's a kr (cheap insurance)

Was driving great yesterday evening went to get some pics of it all

Come to drive to work this morning sounded like it wanted to stall, like it was

missing. It picked up then was reving over

1k.

Then

So only got few miles down the road and noticed my coolant light flashing. So I pull over to fill back up and the water was spilling out of the resivour. (Engine off)

So I fill it up to max again and been great got me to work but noticed the temp gauge go over 90 till I turned heater on then went below 90.

So I'm stuck now with what to do and what to check first.

Apart from them two things car is awesome missed driving a corrado

If you can help me and guide me I'd be very fl very grateful thanks

Sounds like you may have an air lock maybe? Blocked rad, dodgy water pump? Is there an aux water pump on yours like the VR? As for dodgy idle, is it only when cold? Might be a coolant sensor faulty.

I got a blocked heater matrix. As focal aux water pump I'm not sure.

Yeh I idle happens when cold then when it's warm it's up and down somtimes

if you have a blocked matrix, which is still plumbed in so to speak, then surely it makes sense to clear the blockage or replace the matrix before wondering why your cooling is not correct

the coolant HAS to flow entirely though the matrix for the entire cooling system to function correctly

otherwise you will just be clutching at straws

you could try bypassing the matrix & see if the fault repeats maybe
