Windscreen Replacement

Hi All,

 

Currently in the process of having my Corrado resprayed.

Unfortunately the windscreen has cracked upon removal. What prices are we looking at and what suppliers?

Do you not have windscreen cover on your insurance? Worth paying the windscreen excess of usually around £70 than having to fork out somewhere in the region of about £250-300 iirc.

If you claim on insurance you will more than likely end up with a generic make, so if you want a genuine VW stamped screen it's going to cost £300 upwards.

I have layover insurance on the Corrado as its being restored which doesn't include windscreen cover. On the final leg now, I will be wanting a genuine one, I'm looking for a supplier for this.

I've got one but..i'm a bit more than an hour's drive away..

Mine was about £420 for the screen/trims and fitting

Securit vw oem ones are no longer available. The make on mine was star and has been fine.

My windscreen fitter after doing mine thought there was a better solution for the rubber trims, last time i saw him he said he had done another corrado and used a civic trim, (no idea on what year or model but he tells me it was much neater and one piece???

 

Told him i'd try and break mine to get a new one so he can use the civic trim :lol:
