Spuddy 10 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Hi guys, for any of you that are thinking of converting your car either engine swaps or just a gearbox upgrade/swap after a failure, you may find this information useful. Its direct from my volkswagen etka parts system so is accurate information. I will display different categories for platfrom of cars to hopefully make it easy to understand. Please remember these are the final drive ratios so will affect the gearing in as much as what Rpm you will be doing at say 70mph. Handy for working out the cruising speeds you desire. The gear ratios are different and the codes will differ for longer 1st, short 2nd etc. This all gets very complex but to get a idea of what you are looking for this should help. Lower ratios are better for a low engine Rpm at cruising speeds Starting with mk3 golf/vento 02A 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION GEAR RATIO N.O. Of TEETH CODES 3.15/1 60/19 CTN, ASD, CYP 3.38/1 61/18 CCM, CHN 3.64/1 62/17 CDM 3.68/1 70/19 CDA, DPA MK4 PLATFORM 02J 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION Golf bora leon octavia A3 GEAR RATIO N.O. Of TEETH CODES 3.38/1 61/18 DEA, DQY, EBF, EGS, EBJ, EGR, EUH, EWX, EHC, EWW, DZC, JDH JEJ, JDM 3.64/1 62/17 EHA, EWU, EXE, EXD 3.68/1 70/19 EVS, EGY, FBX, EBN, ENJ, JEG, JDP, 3.94/1 71/18 EBA, DZL, EGC, EMR, EGU, EBS, EHB, JDW 4.24/1 72/17 DYN, CZM, EBD, EGV, EGT, FBV, EWG, EBM, EGW, EVQ So far I have done this. I will add the 02M 6 speed box codes when I can and also all the rest of the 02A numbers for the corrado platfrom as that will help sourcing suitable standard replacements.
