crazylegs 10 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm buying all new discs and pads all round, and have decided to buy new calipers while I am doing this, likely going to paint them before fitting. Any recommendations from anyone on what I should buy? With a million other things on the list my budget isn't exactly massive, but as they will be stopping the car, I guess it's pretty important 💃🏽 Thanks! Jim 2 Posted April 5, 2017 You can bump the 16v Corrado up from standard 256mm brakes to 280mm from the G60. A reasonably inexpensive upgrade as those calipers were used on other VW's but also a fairly decent upgrade in stopping power :) In terms of manufacturers, OE from the dealer are always good but something like ATE or Pagid will see you right! crazylegs 10 Posted April 5, 2017 Cheers Jim, I'll be honest I'm a complete noob. Had this Corrado going on five years now, it's been SORN'd this whole time and I'm getting around to getting it started after the bodywork was done many years ago. So am i looking for G60 discs and calipers front and back or just front?
GlosterOx 0 Posted April 5, 2017 Rears are the same, so G60 front only. Ian.
crazylegs 10 Posted April 5, 2017 Cheers Ian. I think I'll get some braided hoses while I'm doing all this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
MZpog 10 Posted April 5, 2017 I did the G60 upgrade on mine and it's only really noticeable when batting along, the rest of the time it feels the same.
crazylegs 10 Posted April 5, 2017 Thanks all, I'm thinking these ATE Calipers and either these Brembo front discs, or full front and rear disc set from Mintex. Seems a bit cheap for a full set of discs and pads though! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Complete-Caliper-ATE-for-VW-Corrado-1-8-G60-2-9-VR6-/191920813887?fits=Model%3ACorrado%7CCars+Type%3A1.8+G60&hash=item2caf5f373f:g:LMMAAOSwanRXhTOA http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BREMBO-SPORT-MAX-BRAKE-DISCS-FRONT-VENTED-286-VW-CORRADO-G60-GOLF-2-PASSAT-35I-/381578598723?fits=Model%3ACorrado%7CCars+Type%3A1.8+G60&hash=item58d7db5943:g:2e4AAOSwLpdW85bU http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-1-8-16v-G60-89-92-Front-Rear-Dimpled-Grooved-Brake-Discs-Mintex-Pads-/171114811182?fits=Model%3ACorrado%7CCars+Type%3A1.8+G60&hash=item27d73ccf2e:g:uhgAAOSw3v5YnGk8

You'll need 280mm carriers too
delfinis38 1 Posted April 5, 2017 You could always go for the mk4 conversion on the rear... better than the standard rear mk1gti setup.
