Is the PG engine block shared between other Volkswagens?

Is the PG engine block shared between other Volkswagen engines? I am in need of another 1.8 PG engine block and maybe I can find a replacement from a different engine?

That I know of, only the B3 Passat g60 version.

I've got a spare, I'm based in Rome, Italy mate, a little closer to you than the UK.

Sorry, but Rome is a little too far from me. I have heard that engine block is almost the same as regular 1.8 or even 2.0 engine block. But I am not sure if that is true. Does someone know the difference?

Its only the water ways around the block that is different, but in practice any 8V 1.8 or 2L block will do, but remember the PG block has oil squirters and has a slightly higher flow oil pump, so if using a normal 1.8 block with the PG oil pump you may get higher than normal oil pressure that could potentially blow the charger oil seals.
