Oettinger Corrado???

Recommended Posts

I was looking at a car the other evening and the guy selling it just asked me if I knew anyone interested in a corrado a friend of his had taken in as a part exchange. It's a tornado red 91 16V apparently. The guy also mentioned something about an oettinger engine. What is he talking about? Does anyone know anything about oettinger corrados? (I haven't seen the car btw but it sounds interesting)

On a related note there's a silver Corrado on the Autotrader site at the moment advertised as a "Oling Limited Edition" whatever that means. It's got a non-standard grille and apart from that it looks fairly normal. I assumed it was just dealer bulls**t.

There's also a red Corrado advertised as a "Karmann limited edition"....hang on...I've got one of those. I feel so special! Anybody else?

They really do take the p1ss sometimes - and then they wonder why they are despised as much as estate agents

Oettinger is to VW what AMG is to Mercedes... 8)

The Oettinger Corrado 16V was over-boared to 2.0, flowed, ported and generally played with to give around 170bhp! 8)

VERY cool at the time as this was before the G60 was released over here! 8)

They tended to have a nasty colour coded single central bar front grille and some had a nicer interior, but other than that, there wasn't a lot of difference apart from the engine and a few badges and stickers in the enginebay.... :| Someone here needs to go and have a look around this car before it disappears again... :?

It's an Oettinger one that someone has managed to screw up the advert for.... Mate of mine's brother was going to have a look at it before he decided on something else... :|
