Vr6 exhaust cat sheild

Hey guys i am currently lowering my VR6 with a set of KW V1 coilovers. I haven't used the car since fitting a few days ago but I have noticed that the cat as well as the shield sits very low to the ground below the car. I am concerned about it catching something.

 

Do they normally sit very low?

 

Do you recommend removing it?

 

Also the 90mm front splitter is also worrying me?

 

Any input on this would put a mind to rest..

I remember the cat on my vr protruded 60mm from the underside and at a 2 finger arch gap (on v2s) I don't think it ever caught once... unlike the 90mm splitter! Never did fill me with confidence though. Changed it to a techtonics one that happened to protrude 20mm in the end.

Removed the guard on mine about 8yrs ago and not had a problem.

Mine has a load of scuff marks on it but it's still there, I did grind a hole in the sump being a bit too enthusiastic through a dip though!
