SR_Neale 10 Posted August 5, 2017 Morning all. My wife has just got a new job and we are looking to replace her 1.6 auto golf with something that's a bit more economical. I am looking at a polo did consider an A1 but seem to be more money for less car and Fabia reviews I have read aren't that great. Has anyone got experience of a polo or can advise what to look out for or avoid? Or is there any other models I should also consider. Budget is 6k ish. Cheers in advance. elliott 10 Posted August 5, 2017 Highly recommend a Polo for everyday but take care with the 1.2 TSI. It's a great little engine but timing chains can stretch and rattle... Took a bit of searching but the SEL trim was the one for me... Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
dr_mat 0 Posted August 5, 2017 Friend of mine has the same 1.2 TSi and it's putting in 65mpg on a cruise (he's known for a light right foot to be fair). Looks like nice little cars. I say "little", they are the same size as the "family" golf was when it was a Mk2 and have the same wheelbase and running gear as a Corrado.. A Corrado is for life, not just for the MOT.
