ben16v 0 Posted July 21, 2004 :) just a couple of values that the fellah couldn`t get into the tollerances not worried though he said they`de be fine should hope so cos it cost me 70 bucks!!!! (VW is the only place round here that does the full check AFAIK and i remember reading somewhere the C`s are a bit fussy when it comes to geometry)
aide 0 Posted July 21, 2004 £36 quid at pro tyre :!: you need the proper laser ones cos of the low valance
G60Jet 1 Posted July 21, 2004 i take that back and get them in tollerances if i paid £70 at the dealers.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 21, 2004 The readings look OK to me. Toe is not adjustable at the back unless you shim the stub axles and you're not going to feel a 0.9 difference between left and right anyway. If there is excess slack in the rear wheel bearings, that can affect the toe readings, as can worn top mounts. The castor is a bit off at the front but again, that isn't adjustable unless you use pillow ball top mounts but the final value isn't off enough to cause significant steering issues. The rest of it is all good. Does it feel better on the road? K
ben16v 0 Posted July 21, 2004 well i`m still getting used to the new Koni/H&R set up-just started playing with the damping on the koni`s, but i cant fault it compared to sonia`s ( 126K standard susp!) but its like a go kart in a good way and i`m defo happy i spent all that cash/visa on me motor! and i reckon it`s still a better set-up than most NEW cars nowadays
coolrado 0 Posted July 21, 2004 just had mine done at demon tweeks after changing the shocks, £35 for digital laser alignment track and camber which i thought was quite cheap feels soooo much better now, had a full set of toyo's fitted as well £32 each all in so the handling is great now it feels like a smaller lighter car and sticks to the road like a limpet they managed to get the readings allmost spot on all within 0.2 i think
ben16v 0 Posted July 21, 2004 that seems very cheap! would be worth my while going down there next time!! they fitted my exhaust (dad`s expense :D :D ) and did a good job, although its knocking now, 3 years down the line(its getting sorted tommorow though before my trek down to bugjam!) nia573 0 Posted March 30, 2008 Was it Pentraeth VW that set your up Ben? Need to get my geometry set up soon. I have taken it to Bangor Tyre Service in the past as they have the laser alignment & can set up the camber too Never heard of RSE Motorsport before - are they on the industrial estate?
