Blown charger

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks, well the inevitable has happened. The G lader on my G60 has blown, straight through the casing, any help? Ideas? On where or what to do next? Have taken it out of the car and just wondering about refurb, or new or what to do with it. Cheers Folks 👍🏻

Sad to hear you've blown your charger.

If the casing is smashed it is pretty much the end I would have thought.

They are £2500 new at VW Heritage so best bet will be to find a second hand one if possible.

I know that Brian at Jabba Sport has a few spare casing etc and might be able to fix you up. Probably worth a call.

Yeah cheers for your reply. I have emailed Jabba i hope they can sort me out. Absolutely gutted, It was rebuilt by G Werks in 2010 and only done 10,000 miles, wasn't expecting it to go.

When was the charger timing belt changed last?

Yeah the belts deteriorate; it's recommended you change them every 12 months - they cost a tenner and are easy to do :)

You could try OCD for casing half too, Matt has quite a few spares I expect.
