hman94637 10 Posted June 24, 2018 93 Vr6 My son's alternator went bad and he replaced it. New alternator is not charging car. Battery Light is on in dash. There is a blue wire that is cut on (running with) the B+ cable from starter to alternator. The blue wire is attached to the Altenator but for the life of me I cannot trace where the other wire is to reconnect it. Any ideas what this wire is and where does it go? appreciate the help. vw rule 19 Posted June 24, 2018 According to the Bentley manual for the Corrado, the Blue wire is 0.5mm think, goes from alternator to single connector near starter motor, then goes to back of fuse box at the bottom close to centre (says it's wire 3 in white 10 point connector plug) It's almost directly behind where fuses 10 to 12 are, if that makes sense. Look at the coloured diagram in the link below, it's a blow up image of the back of fuse box, look at the white 10 point connector plug ( F ) wire position number 3 is where the 0.5 blue wire in question goes to. That I believe is your battery warning light wire. Look at link below http://www.a2resource.com/electrical/CE2.html Hope this helps Si
hman94637 10 Posted June 25, 2018 Thank you very much. by chance is there a picture of what connector it goes to on starter? I'm not seeing any open connectors with a stray blue wire that would connect to my broken wire. On the alternator there is a plug connector with 1 blue wire going out and heading straight into fuse box. Another connector with 2 wires, one brown and I forgot the other color. Then the main nut with the power from starter and my mysterious blue wire that is cut. His fuse box under dash is a rats nest. I tried to get to it but I'm afraid i will pull out more wires. I'd like to see where this blue wire is cut from before I attempt pulling the fuse panel out. Thanks!
