akacheesy 0 Posted July 29, 2004 I'm having intermittant problems with, I think, the auto choke. From cold it will start then rev to about 1500rpm for a few secs then completely die. had it in to the garage & the so-called mechanic said he couldn't find anything wrong with it i.e there's no fault on the comp. He said to keep an eye on the water levels as it maybe the head gasket, which i think is a complete load of bollox. Any suggestions??
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 29, 2004 Is it OK when hot? Might be the blue temp sender, which is on the thermostat housing on the front of the engine engine block, behind the rad fan. They're about a tenner, so a cheap fix it it works and not the end of the world if it doesn't!
