Timo. 0 Posted July 31, 2004 100% sure the thermostat in ma G60 has bit the dust. I fixed the coolant temp. guage the other day as it hasn't been working since I purchased the car. The temperature barely reaches 70 C on a long run. The oil sits 88-90 C (It has an oil cooler 8) ). I've done some searches on the forum and the thermostat looks like the culprit. Am I doing any harm to the engine by using it?? It must been stuck open as all the pipes get hot rather than some staying hot and others cold if it had stuck the other way (I think that's how it works). Heard it quite easy to change, also there's mention of getting a colder operating one? Where's the best place to get them? gsf? or stick with VAG? cheers Timo.
