magicrat1 0 Posted August 7, 2004 Can anyone recommend when I should fill-up with unleaded super? The gentleman who sold me my vr6 seemed to know loads of stuff, but sold me a pile of crap.
quikstu 0 Posted August 7, 2004 Everyone is different. There will be people who use 'super' all the time & folk who never use it. I have a 1994 VR6 & fill up with 'Super unleaded' every three or four tanks. Just a preference. Don't really notice much of a difference but do it anyway. Helps clean the fuel system. Just my tuppence worth.
STORM 2 0 Posted August 7, 2004 Just filled up today with Super 97RON from Sainsbury's. Cost 79.9p a litre and the C seems to like it better than Optimax
STORM 2 0 Posted August 7, 2004 . I have a 1994 VR6 & fill up with 'Super unleaded' every three or four tanks. Helps clean the fuel system.: I don't think Super has any specific cleaning agents in it - it is just a higher Research Octane Number fuel - closer to leaded fuel and more combustible. Optimax and similar fuels do have specific additives that supposedly 'clean' as you burn it :) :)
