ger040 4 Posted June 1 My 92 G60 has recently seen a drop off in performance so decided to do a bit of an inspection First i done a compression test and was quite surprised by the readings - all between 155 - 160 psi all within limits When i had the head off previously there were rings starting to appear at the top of the bores At times when i start it at times there is a ticking noise which disappears when the engine reaches around 60oC I have put new hydraulic cam followers in (INA) during a head rebuild I do not know if this is pinking as i not familiar with the issue - Knock sensor? Any way i have had an issue with a minor coolant leak around the water pump so decided to see where it is coming from Also decided to replace the belt on the charger although virtually no real mileage its been around 6 years from i rebuilt the charger Took of the silencer and found it full of sludge (grey in colour) If it was oil would it be this colour ? Is my charger done? or need another rebuild? I have no doubt the intercooler will be full of this mess too Opinions please 9
