throttle cable broken ?

Recommended Posts

my throttle pedal went straight to the floor!

Where the cable threads into the manifold and goes through a threaded black plastic bolt.  This bolt is free to move through a thick double rubber bush when the throttle pedal is pressed  making the movement useless. Is there a nut or something to prevent this plastic bolt move through the double rubber washer

The symptoms are a failure of the engine to start and when it does the revs go up to 5000 rpm as though there is a memory in the system but it fails to return and will not idle.

I had some work done to the cylinder head and was sure I had replaced all the inlet pipes and plugs. Where have I gone wrong ?

Hey up,

I'm not sure I understand you.

These are pic's of my throttle cable (1992 G60) - does it look like yours [assuming yours is G60]?

The cable adjustment reaction circlip will be missing, part number N 900 956 03 and £3.12 from VW dealers, the other problem sounds like an air leak.
