Jez 0 Posted August 11, 2004 Just a quick one, anyone know whether you can ajust the fuel mixture on a vr6 just by turning a screw like on lesser vw engines? I suspect not but thought Id ask anyways.
vr6storm 0 Posted August 11, 2004 AFAIK the answer is no.............
Jez 0 Posted August 11, 2004 Then how do you ajust it?
Joe M 0 Posted August 11, 2004 It adjusts itself and should be ok unless somethings amiss like a sensor. If the engine is modified then the chip needs remapped to adjust it.
vr6storm 0 Posted August 11, 2004 Then how do you ajust it? AFAIK its the ECU that adjusts the fueling..............so isn't possible to tweak....other than a re-chip/re-map........not sure if it would make a difference changing the fuel regulator either :? dr_mat 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Nope, fuel regulator just maintains the pressure in the fuel line, the injectors release a known *quantity* of fuel when asked, don't think you can trick 'em by increasing the pressure in the line. To recap - you can't adjust the fuelling on a VR unless you do an ECU remap. You don't *need* to adjust the fuelling on a VR under normal circumastances - what makes you think you do? Supercharged 2 Posted August 12, 2004 If the cars running rich its probably a faulty MAF...
