Rossco 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Yesterday i changed the belt that runs the water pump and the power steering pulley cos the previous owner had bodged it and chucked on any old belt plus it was upside down(idiot). I drove the car about yesterday and it felt much better. This morning when i fired it up there was a sort of knocking noise it wasnt very loud and when i revved the car the noise went away, i poped the hood and it sounds like its comming from one of the pulleys i cant be sure tho. Can anyone shed some light?

Scott 0 Posted May 8, 2003 I put my money on the water pump bearings going.... take the belt off again and see if any play in the bearings on the pump by trying to rock it... On a further note the belt that goes round water pump does not also go round power steering pump on the K jet engine.... two seperate belts!
.A.N.T. 0 Posted May 8, 2003 Aren't there 2 different belts? One for the Alternator and water pump, and a second one just for the power steering pump? Have you changed both of them?? What was on upside down?
