Supercharged 2 Posted August 13, 2004 Just bought new Temp sender housing and the other plastic flange (love that word) on the side of the block, new O rings, clips and black and blue senders... For info - the housing has been superceded by one with an extra hole at the bottom for which they also supply a blanking plate. Apart from cleaning, do I need to do anything else when I replace them - ie do I need any type of gasket sealent and if so do I need the blue or red flavour?? andycowuk 0 Posted August 13, 2004 the sealing face on the head on my car was all pitted, so I smeared in a load of blue instant gasket. It really depends on what its like once you take it off. The front flange is held in by hex key headed bolts, if these are rusted and difficult to get out, it may be an idea to replace them too as they might cause big problems for you if there is a next time. Remember not to over tighten the bolts on the front and the nuts on the side.
Henny 0 Posted August 13, 2004 smear a little grease onto the O rings before fitting and that's about it... 8)
Supercharged 2 Posted August 13, 2004 Yes thanks, I did think that but the dealer only had one bolt in stock, I think mine are ok... I think i'll get some sealent as according to the bentley they only need to be 10Nm!
