jedi-knight83 0 Posted August 18, 2004 Well one problem is sorted and now another develops If i press the switch i can hear the relay kick in but the window wont budge. same thing with both switches (pass and drivers side) also...if i put the drivers window down and then press the pass side down (nothing happens) and then i try to put the drivers side up nothing happens (like its waiting for the pass side to do something???) broken pass side motor?? :(
Henny 0 Posted August 18, 2004 disconnect BOTH passenger window switches, then try the switches one at a time in either location... That'll rule out wiring and switch faults...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 18, 2004 Sounds like the timer is activating when you press the pass window and the driver's window won't go up until it *thinks* the pass window has stopped.....dunno, does that sound plausible? As for the motor not working, that used to happen all the time in my MK2 pass windows. They rarely get used and sometimes jam up. Inside the motor is a series of rubber bushes whcih absorb the sudden shock when you activate the motor. I bet one of them has become misaligned. Sometimes loosening the motor, activating it and doing it back up again fixes it. Don't ask why but that always used to work in the MK2...... different window configuration, but same principal.
