Guys, due to buying a new house, I have to sell my Storm :( as I need the cash to go towards the house deposit. As such I need to sell it quickly. Its a 1995 N Reg in Metallic Green with the cream leather interior. It's done 73K with full service history from Dealer and VW specialist although it is due a service. It has 8 Months MOT and Tax. It's in excellent condition and has no mods apart from the upgraded headlight loom. There is a very slight dent in the passenger door caused by some over enthusiastic kid with a football that should easily be popped out. I'm hoping for £6k for it - what do you reckon ?????

Hi guys, i wil shortly be putting my Storm up for sale :( :( This is due to joining the company car club. I'm after some ideas for it's value. I paid £7,400 for it nearly two years ago. It is totally original except for aero wipers and uprated headlight loom. Classic Green with the cream leather, 73,500 miles. Full history, some with VW, some with VW specialist. In very good condidtion. BBS Solitudes could do with refurbing but other than that, spot on. Any thoughts ???

Well, should it be done or not ?? I have a storm with 68K on the clock that is bog standard apart from a BMC CDA (which can be put back to standard). The rear suspension needs replacing as well as the bushes and I have managed to get hold of a full set of FK Silverline X Coilovers for a bargain. I've also recently got some 288mm brakes, powerflex bushes and a mocal oil cooler. I'm now having second thoughts on fitting these. Is it sacrilege to mod a storm and it likely to have a massively adverse effect on price when the time comes to sell the car ????

My storm has had some poor body repairs done on it over the years it would appear. (I've only owned it for 12 mths) I was going to remove the nudge strips but decided against it due to the amount of paint that has been put on the drivers door. Has anyone any idea how much a bare metal respray would cost for the whole car ? Failing that, has anyone any other ideas how I can try to restore the bodywork. Any recommendations of a good bodyshop in the Northwest also appreciated....

I recently got hold of some 288mm callipers from a 1996 VR6 Golf Highline. I am planning on fitting them to my 1995 VR6 Storm and putting some braided hoses on at the same time. Does anyone know if the hoses are the same as those fitted as standard to the VR6 C ? i.e. can I just get a goodridge kit for a VR6 corrado and it will fit the highline callipers ?

The reason I asked is because I already have some carb cleaner. I haven't got any brake cleaner. If it does the same job, it saves me making the trek to halfords.....

I have bought some used callipers / carriers to upgrade my brakes to 288mm. I want to give them a clean and paint them them before fitting. Is carb cleaner OK to use on the callipers or could it eat the rubber for the pistons ??????

I'm thinking of fitting the 288 brakes to my storm and from reading what seems like hunderds of posts on the subject, I am still none the wiser as to exactly which donor cars to get them off from a scrappy. What I can gather is: Golf Mk3 VR or GTI (Only with rounded indicators) Some Golf Mk4's ? Audi ? Seat ? I'm looking at getting them this weekend so any speedy responses would be appreciated...

I've recently bought some FK Konig Silverline X coilovers for my VR and am planning to fit them next weekend. Has anyone any tips or advice on fitting these ? I can only find a KB article for fitting the fronts, but it is the rears I'm more concerned about as I presume this is a lot more complex. I am also planning to replace the rear bushes at the same time, for which I have a print out of the KB article in hand in preparation ! I know to leave the height alone for a few weeks to let the car settle before adjusting for the height / dampening I want. Also, can all this be achieved in one day with the car driveable afterwards? i.e. will the car need fully re-aligning ? I haven't got the facilities at my house to do the work, so will be taking the car around a friends house but will need to drive home at the end of the day.

I need a new headlight unit for my storm and have the following question for those more knowledgable than myself (which is probably all of you!): Is the headlight unit fitted to a 1992 G60 the same as the one fitted to a 1995 VR6 Storm ? Cheers, Stooby.
