  1. It stalled once so far. The idling is fine. Is there anything as a fuel regulator? This is what happened. The head went for a rebuild. We fitted the new timing chain and the head at the same time. and ever since, it is drinking badly. I know the fuel pump has to be changed, as it is an 8v one. But i am sure that it cannot be a problem. It has to be something other than that.
  2. Just calculated the MPG. Its giving about 17 mpg on a good run. Its definitly overfuelling. I cannot smell any petrol.
  3. Does anyone have idea as to what could be wrong if a vr6 keeps popping reqularly if you take the foot off the gas and does very poor MPG. The only mod it has is a ported and polished head. This engine is in a Mk2 golf. Many Thanks, Alan
  4. After the blanking plate conversion, I am having to smell a lot of fumes and my engine bay gets spashes of oil from the manifold. I have one hose running to the bottom of my car, but fumes still make their way around to the cabin. Would the catch tank sort out all of these problems? Cheers, Alan
  5. I had a problem with the little coolant pipe ends (the plastic bit) which goes into the head. I am not sure of the name. May be someone can shed some light on this.
  6. The map light and the sunroof light and the interior light does not work. They however only work when i open and shut the door. Then out of random they stop working again. Any ideas on this please. Cheers, Alan
  7. yeah thats correct. mis-typed the info.
  8. Took my car for a rolling road session today at stealth. Got 204BHP with 161 on the flywheel and 206 lbs of torque. Is this standard for a stage 4 with sns 5.5 chipped G60. Cheers Alan
  9. Its normal paint. It was done by the old owner. Looking at the work, I dont think its hard at all. Alan
  10. Got my car back today from G-Werks, what an improvement... Here are the pics of the old blown supercharger and the new one. Blown Charger New One Alan
  11. I used to have the same problem, now its sorted out. It was the brakes and the shoes in my case. If it still does gives the problem, you should have a look at the wish bones. Hope you get this sorted out, as I found the vibrations increasingly annoying. Alan
  12. I dont really know when the charger was serviced. I am assuming sometime in 2003. Not sure though. Could be earlier. G-werks are sorting me a rebuilt charger. So going on with that at the moment. Cheers, Alan
  13. How could have this happened? It blew when idling. The car was not even taken to more than 3k rpm for the drive. It shows a crack betwen the two pieces on it. I am thinking whether it is worth replacing the charger or changing the engine to a VR6 one. Not sure at the moment. BTW, How much would I be looking for another charger or even an engine conversion including a decent engine. Alan
  14. Just noticed that the old oil filter was a wrong one when I came to changing it today. What sort of effects would it have caused? as it was there since I bought the car. Cheers Alan
  15. Everything has been done, and my car still gives I am so confused and I use my corrado on a daily drive basis. Can anyone please point me on any direction please. As far as I know, it could even be the ECU. But not sure yet. All the sensors are working correctly. Alan
  16. Well, not a lot of work actually. I bought this car off my friend, who had done most of the work. I am simply trying to afford to run it.
  17. Here you go peeps, just cleaned my car and took some good photos. Enjoy. Alan
  18. got the tyres sorted out. Apparently all the wheels are slightly buckled according to elite. All because of a bloody speed bump IMO. Noise is still there. I will leave it like that until something breaks and then fix it. I am fed up of spending £££ on my car. Alan
  19. If my car needs tracking, the steering is on one side and the car pulls to one particular side too. Can any sort of noise come from the wheels, etc? Just wondering. Cheers Alan
  20. I seem to have this problem too, metal rubbing noise when slowing down. Please help. Alan
  21. LOL, nice argument. I think I am going to keep my car as it is and change the front splitter. It looks proper nice at the moment. Thanks for the comments guys. Alan
  22. My car is very low at the moment. This is how it looks (taken at GTI inters). The only problem I have is that when I go over a bump or so, I have to slow down to 1mph or else, I am risking something breaking. Last time I went on a small bump at 15mph and broke all bearings and I am depressed. So i am thinking of raising the car. It currently has FK coilovers. What do you think? Worth or leave it as it is. Cheers, Alan
  23. it sounds like from the bearings. and the front brakes squeek at low speeds too. The stearing is heavy. But it does not slip.
  24. I always try to use the first choke, but the car is simply too slow. I am still thinking on the lines of my replaced bearings as they still make screaching noises. The car used to give 28mpg easily on good drives before, but now it has changed rapidly with no mods at all. The blue and the black senders were checked by Darren before (3 weeks ago), and they seem fine. I havent checked the oil in the gearbox, as I dont know where to look for. I am going to call a mechanic and have a look at the cars setup. Its simply making a big hole in my pocket at the moment.
