Cheers for your thoughts ppl, i have sent stealth an email asking them to look into organising a BMC CDA for my car as they dont actually make a specific one for the 8v rado, but it would appear that it is possible to sort one from a golf gti kit with one or two minor adjustments. So il be looking forward to hearing from them. Think this is prob much better idea than the cone filter, and L100py_H all depends how friendly you are with Mr MOT  thanks again for your advice!

Looked bit further into this and the boys on club gti site seem to think a BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox is far better investment, not as noisy with proven results, just wondering if anyone has put one of these into a C and what they thought?

3corsameal my first plan was the fast flow filter but then found could get these kits for about a tenner more and now not so sure L100PY_h Have you tried these kits or something similiar can u tell me if they work or if the K&N panel filter is a better option, if it is then fair enuff this is what i want to know before i spend the cash?! Already got the stainless steel exhaust, only way "i could" improve that further is cat bypass but fairly sure my insurance would not be too impressed, that is if they find out  im not too fussed what she looks like under the bonnet as long as she pulls well and iv spent quite a bit of cash on sound dampening so the noise aint going to bother me either unless it really is (saxo) bad noisy pedal made me chuckle!

Hi im thinking of installing an induction kit onto (or should that be into) my 93 2 Litre 8 Valve and would appreciate any help or advice anyone can offer. I would like to know if a K&N system or something similiar is suitable for my car, has anyone had any problems with them, seen any gains in power etc etc And i dont want a bigger engine right now or to drill holes into my air filter housing incase i change my mind later ty  K&N dont have a specific one on their site for the 8 valve but as iv done a bit of checking on this im fairly certain these are basically Golf Mk3 gti engines, so would one of these induction kits be suitable for my car? My engine code is 2E and i have bosch stamped onto the small box that sits ontop of the airbox with the plug going into it and i think this kit of those available for the golf gti is most likely to be suitable http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=019 but like i say im far from certain and dont want to damage what is pretty much a bomb proof engine by putting an unsuitable air filter onto it. I fully intend to install a decent cold air feed from lower bumper or wheel arch area and will make sure the induction kit has suitable heat shield from engine heat, and dont worry i dont expect huge power gains from the install, but a bit would be nice  Any help or advice will be great, thanks ben

no probs buddy, should be easy swap over once you get the part!

Although im not certain i doubt that they are interchangeable, i think you will have trouble finding a lhd at a breakers when i first got my c ( and before i realised ) i rang loads of breakers to try and get parts but none of them had any rados (cos ppl break them themselves to sell parts on ebay cos they so special  ) If you remove it and get the part number you may find a lhd passat or golf will match, failing that try getting one from abroad http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Volkswagen-Wiper- ... dZViewItem Will prob cost you bit in postage but its new and at least you know they drive on the wrong side of the road

Hi Fingers iv done a bit of bodywork on cars before and by no means would consider myself anything more than an amateur but am curious if your planning on handling this yourself? If so i think you need to follow doms advice and you got to find out how bad the damage is, so you need to take off the rear badge, scrape away all that surface damage and then sand it back to good metal before you can decide to repair or replace. From the looks of the pics you may be catching this in time (JUST) and might not need to replace the whole panel and i think you will prob be able to cut away the bad metal, weld a new piece in and work from there, but i dont think you can be sure of this untill you work out the extent of the damage. If your not planning on doing this yourself then dont take it back to the place the respray was done because all the damage on the rear panel is where they have not properly sealed where the badge goes into the back panel and that why all this rust has come up here, and possibly on the offside wing too!

Iv signed up, If the goverment think they can make money out of this im sure they will be finding a way to make it work as soon as they can. Bloody cameras everywhere are bad enough without having spy in the car!

Hi Rado iv been doing my C recently using the exact same stuff as son of beesting is using, and have so far used two packs (80 sq ft) doing the whole rear section (boot, under seats, walls etc), one footwell, transmission tunnel and think i have enough left to do the two doors. I admit i may have gone slightly overboard though as iv completely covered these sections and have left no gaps and it overlaps quite a bit in the boot, i know this prob wasnt necessary but the gaps bothered me at first even though i know they will be covered by seats carpet etc  think i prob bit of a perfectionist, either that or way too much free time  i should think if you dont go as mad as me 80 sq ft is prob enuff to do whole car and i have noticed quite a reduction in the road, exhaust noise etc with the Second skin Damplifer kit and would def recommend it. Hope this helps!

LOL Im not one of those that drive around with fogs on 24 7, but my rado was from Belgium and if you think UK lights are bad euro ones are actually worse (fogs included sadly) but still be interested and if you need euro car to test on

Hi there im looking at gettin coilovers for my 2 litre 8 valve rado and have got it down to either Fk Highsport or some Cobra coilovers, i know the cobra ones will fit but would far prefer the FKs but have searched the net and am not certain they will fit the 8 valve although it does state they will fit the 16 valve, has anyone had any experience with changing 8 valve suspension? should the FKs fit? would appreciate any advice on offer!
