1.8 16v | Nugget Yellow | Aberdeen, Scotland Price: £500 Description: Year: 1990 Road Tax: None Manufacturer: Volkswagen Transmission: Manual Model: Corrado Fuel: Petrol Seats: 4 Doors: 3 Drive Side: Right-hand drive Colour: Yellow Safety Features: Rear seat belts Exterior: Alloy Wheels Reg. Date: 01/11/1990 Interior/Comfort Options: Power-assisted Steering (PAS), Power Windows, Sunroof, Tilt Steering Wheel Mileage: 140861 In-Car Audio: CD Player Engine Size: 1.8 8 Previous former keepers 1.8 Litre 16v engine. Engine replaced April 2010 with aprox 85K miles SORN’d / garaged since Aug 2011 No MOT (Will require front brakes & headlights looked at to my knowledge) New / Used Parts: Battery Jul 10 Radiator Dec 08 Heater blower motor Oct 08 Injector Pipe Jan 07 ECU Replaced ITG Competition Air Filter Aug 07 Thermostat & water hose Sept 07 Heater Matrix Oct 08 FR brake caliper & handbrake cable June 08 VR6 Clutch Kit July 08 (Mileage 128206) Bought this vehicle on 30 Dec 2006 & drove it daily until a couple of years ago, alternating between it & another car. It’s been SORN’d & garaged for a year. Have spent many Pounds & hours on the vehicle including a garage bill in excess of £900 after purchase to get it through MOT. It “Should” go through MOT easy enough if the advisories from last year are looked at – front brakes & headlights too dim even though the upgrade kit’s been fitted. The reflectors actually need rubbing down & sprayed with mirror paint. Please remember, it’s nearly 22 years old & has a range of faults outstanding I don’t have the time to fix: Elec windows, central locking inop, drivers door handle to name but a few. The engine is brilliant & overall the whole car runs & performs well. The body in various places has been touched up to do away with the rust but the worst areas are wheel arch / sill sections. The interior is in very good condition with only slight signs of wear on the sports seats. Rear parcel shelf is not cut for speakers & carpet has only 1 cig burn on the passenger side. Shelving panels under the dash were not replaced after fitting the new heater matrix but they will be supplied with the car when sold. It’s a pleasure to drive & certainly a classic “Head turner”. Tyres are good but the Woolfrace alloys need a refurb, no spare wheel and has a part stainless steel exhaust fitted by a previous owner. She started 1st time since being SORN’d and garaged a year ago! It’s up for sale to the highest offer be it for spares or repair. To my knowledge there are only 3 or 4 yellow Corrado 16 valvers in Scotland. It will need to be trailered away & unfortunately, due to no tax or MOT, can’t be test driven on the road legally. Sorry. No guarantee’s or warranty offered: Sold as seen No refunds Cash on collection please Vehicle is located near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, AB39 Post Code. Can be viewed any time over the next 2 weeks while I am on holiday. Will also advertised on E-Bay this weekend so 24 hour “Heads up” on CF http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120974736446?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Any interested parties can contact me on 07770 761450 Cheers Kev

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
RallyRaddo replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Unbolted the antenna from the roof, cut away all the foam, horid & wet, ripped the amp off, resoldered the antenna, put it all back together & now have radio again! Kev -
Thumbs up from me too. Used them to send a Land Rover BF Goodrich tyre to a chap in Englandshire. Delivered next day with City Link. Kev

What's an acceptable price for a non runner?
RallyRaddo replied to RallyRaddo's topic in General Car Chat
Would take it there myself, on the trailer. A mate of mine did this a few weeks back with an escort, about same weight I rekon, £150 cash he got for it. Would probably take the wheels off in case someone wanted them cheap. -

Yeah VR6. I am thinking along the lines of Panda Rosa for £150 just on the weight as scrap. Would be good though if someone was to at least get the use of the parts if they bought the whole car though. Cheers for your input. Jack, it's a 1.8 16v Kev -

OK Joe, thanks. I am not a mechanic so claim no knowledge about this type of thing. -
Folks, The engine isn't running since rebuilding the cylinder head after blowing the head gasket. Nephew (Mechanic) thinks it's either the timing or loss of compression. I'm going to do a compression test this coming week and if that looks OK, will let my local garage have it to see if they can get it running. We are fed up scratching our heads & bums. I will give them a max of 2 hours labour as I am not really wanting to have a huge bill for a car that I plan to sell as soon as possible. If I can't get the engine running, what's an acceptable asking price for a non running, spares of repair, Nugget Yellow, 1991 H Reg? I have receipts for just over £2000 over the past 2 years. Body work is fair & some of the rust has been taken care of and resprayed around the arches and so on The roof has some deep gouges in the paintwork that would need seeing to Rear spoiler works fine Non standard after market sunroof tilt / slide Pretty decent interior, no holes in the rear shelf Wolfrace alloys that have seen better days (4) no spare though Passenger elec window motor U/S, drivers one sticks sometimes & needs a push up Headlight upgrade done, though wiring needs tidying up Brand new floor mats (Used once since my mussus bought them for my Christmas & then the head gasket went) New heater matrix New heater fan New brakes & calipers for last MOT Heavy duty VR Clutch kit MOT & Tax have expired, so if it were to go as spares, someone would have to collect from Aberdeenshire. It was my daily car till head gasket failure on New Years Eve 2008. I'm basically fed up with it in the garage taking up space & want to get shot of it. Not interested in breaking for spares, I don't have the time or inclination. Had planned to compete in it when I originally bought it, hence ID on here, but the car has been a constant uphill battle just to keep it on the road, let alone give it hard competitive use. Over to the experts now for what you think. Cheers Kev
