  1. Do these have alarm sensor holes in them? I'm assuming they are black? Postage options?

Hi, i have had someone local to me who may well take them, but will let you know if they don't and they are still for sale.

Not sure but the alarm sensor holes - but suspect they are - easy enough to check. They could be couried as opposed to posted - they are large.

  2. Hi I have both the off and near side genuine VW A Pillar panels. They incorporate the sill immediately below the A pillar as well as the edge of the windscreen and edge of the roof. I bought these aorund 4 years ago for a previous project.

will attempt to post some pictures - otherwise PM me and I will happily e-mail pictures.

Looking for £100 for the pair - happy to sell them separately.

Collection only would be best - but happy to look at other options. Based in Warwickshire not far off the M40/M42

  3. you can certainly take better pictures than me Joss !

Sunroof sounds a bit odd -never done that before. Have you checked the plug into the light/sunroof switch unit hasn't come undone. It had it disconnected when i replaced the headlining not long before it was laid up - maybe its come loose ?

let me know if you get it to Bigger.

    cheers

    steve

  4. looking good Joss, but then I would be biased !! Missing it now I have seen it again. Sorry that there seems to be some issues with the brakes, but as you said, would be a surprise if there wasn't something after it been laid up for the last 6-7 months. I will watch with interest.

    cheers

  5. I'd say mk5 out of those too. The TT is a lovely car (I've had two) but very similar in concept to a corrado. Why have two similar cars? So a golf would be more practical. the R32 is also a great car but the mk5 gti is also great and cheaper to run.

maybe that's why I would rather have the TT as my circumstances have changed and am having to sell my corrado - not to worried about practicality as it will be a second car so size not really imrportant. If I go for the TT was thinking of a 225 c.f 3.2 - what did you have ? could pick up a higher mileage one for not too much - anything specific to look out for in your experience ?

    cheers

  6. With our move South in a weeks time, and with the raddo unsold ( i am pleased about this - just dont tell the other half !) my parents have let me store her in their garage up North over the winter, until i hopefully get somewhere sorted for her at our new abode. I may still end up selling but we will see. Anyway had a great run on North on Monday. I wanted to see the sunrise in Drumochater pass as it is has always been one of my favourite drives particularly in the winter (guess i wont be seeing it again for a while). anyway thought i would take a pic - ~ 7.30am - stopped for a bit to let the washers defrost. car ran great. got a nice wash, dry and wax when we got there and got her tucked away. Just glad I had one last good blast in case she ends up going.

  7. Are you still having trouble with this?

My VR spluttered and died whilst running outside my house this week.

The engine has only done 500 miles since I rebuilt it so was thinking/hoping it was electrical rather than mechanical.

The symptoms I then had were similar (clicking relay, flicking rev counter, turning but not starting)

so I replaced relays 109 and 67, but still no joy.

Gave the battery a charge (was down to 11.6V by this time)

On refitting the battery noticed the positive terminal was loose due to being slightly out of shape (over compressed on the underside) so straightened it out by opening up the clamp with a screwdriver, problem solved.

I think my faults were a combination of tarnishing on relay 67 pins and battery terminal connections.

You may not have the same problem but I would double check battery, starter and earth connections.

Hi I did get this sorted. The ECU was knackered. replaced it with a used one and problem solved. In fact it was running better than it had been - much smoother through the rev range.

  8. cheers guys,

yeah 109 is the ecu relay and 67 is fuel pump not sure what 53 is.

we did try to vagcom, but the soft ware on the computer wasnt working - so we will have a retry on thursday.

    nightmare !

  9. Now I have done a search, and turned some things up, but not really what the car seems to be doing.

switch on the ignition and staright away there is a random realy clicking in the fuse box and clicking form the engine bay, the rev counter needle flicks up and down. it can stay like this but can eventually stop. the engine turns over fine but it wont start, it will however pop a bit and it blew the palstic black box off / up off the back ISV. Its fueling and has a spark. When the ignition is switched on you can hear the fuel pump prime, occasionally it alternates between priming and stop the prime again - sounds like a buzz - quiet - buzz -quiet - buzz - quiet & occassionally the pump just stays on.

have chnaged both relays 109 & 67 and made no diff, although the random clicking when the ignition is switched on stops if you pull out relay 109. relay 53 is also clicking away but not sure what this one does. it also stops when 109 pulled.

anyone got any thoughts ? moving house in 4 weeks and I need to get it out of my garage

    cheers

    steve

  10. good work Lee :salute: , you dont hang about !! hope the radiator was ok. looks like it has been looked after at some point in its life. My early KR was a much better drive cf with my 9A.

got the VR insured today so will be having a blast in it until its sold. should be up for sale from next week. Maybe I should listen to you and just keep it for my daily !

oh, i found and old handbrake lever handle if you want it, seeing as the pup enjoyed the last one. let me know if you want it & i will take a run over with it.

    cheers steve

  11. This is why you gotta love this forum :D

Besides wheel cap puller 357 012 244, there is also a short length version 357 012 244A. If you want one with longer fingers (+2cm), then 8D0 012 244A is another I have (much better and easier to use).

    Wheel caps:

    - 867 601 173 is common to both 4 and 5 wheel bolt configurations. Satin Black finish

    - 535 601 173B are for VW locking wheel bolts on a 4 bolt pattern. Satin Black finish

    - 535 601 173C are for VW locking wheel bolts on a 5 bolt pattern. Satin Black finish

The wing bolts are 311 821 143. They have been standard since the Air-cooled Beetle days. What makes the slam panel different is the lipped washers instead of plain flat type wahsers. These lipped washers aren't listed anywhere on VW or Audi although a couple of washers do show that may be them...... 411 821 185 and 211 805 189, if someone wants to risk a couple of quid to test out. It is a very long shot!

As is practise from time to time VAG rationalise the spare parts that will "make do" universally for repairs. This bolt & washer 311 821 143 has been the standard slam panel spare bolt/washer even when the Corrado was in production. So the lipped washer is a "Karmann thing", never listed against the Corrado as a spare. I've just checked on the car, there is no part number on the lipped washers (not unusual for sundry parts). So Concours is not quite possibe without robbing from elsewhere, ie a Corrado being scrapped. Something else for me to watch for when judging next year ;)

    .

cheers for that RW1. With regards concours judging, is there a list of specific things looked for or is it just split into the catagories of exterior, interior etc ? Just interested in how things are scored.

I know this will be in the wrong section :nono: but any idea of what the period radio would be in an 93 L raddo ?

  12. Slam panel bolts were actually black I think - only the wing ones were painted over.

i did wonder that, as I remember seeing them as black on one at a show recently. Guess we need the one of the concours guys/girls to let us know !

  13. no they are a solid complete cap, part number off etka, p/n 867601173 saying 16 in total ,

there is another type that fits over genuine locking wheel nuts as well -p/n 535601173b, saying 4 in total

cheers :salute: thats something else to add to the v. long list !
